It is a time of year that releases endorphins and a feeling of freedom, at least that is what we hope it does. Spring is a a celebration of new life, greener pastures and usually includes a thorough house cleaning with the repairs that go with it.

Here are a few tips for when you are diving into your Spring cleaning to keep the temperature inside your home just right all year long. It's no secret that changing filters in your furnace will keep your home cleaner, save about 10% on your heating bill and help your furnace last longer. But maybe you didn't realize that the type of filter you use can make even a bigger difference. Fiberglass filters has a lifetime of about one month, so if your are using fiberglass filters and have not changed them for a while your furnace is probably not running all that efficient. This Spring it may be worth the extra money to upgrade your filters to the ones that last 3 to 4 months or even a six month filter that you can clean using your vacuum cleaner. Also we can inspect your furnace and make sure you are safe from any carbon monoxide leaks.

With warmer weather on the horizon, your air conditioner will be happy if you have taken the time to clean that tiny hole in the bottom of your air conditioner to make sure it is clear of debris. Give us a call and we can take care of the servicing and cleaning the coils so you are running at the top of the charts when it comes to efficiency.

You save even more on your utility bills by repairing any cracks around your windows, testing them for ease of opening and closing, re-caulking both doors and windows and replacing worn out weather stripping.
